Timber Materials
For centuries, wood has been a natural choice of building material — with good reason. Not only are timber materials beautiful, they’re strong, durable, and versatile as well.
Timber materials provide versatility in two ways. The sheer variety of wood species and stains give you myriad options to suit any budget and taste. And with the need for fewer interior walls, timber frame buildings give you a nearly blank canvas for floorplan customization.
Timber frame structures are exceptionally strong and energy efficient too. They are often built with structural insulated panels (SIPs), creating rigid walls that rival — or even exceed — the strength of conventionally framed walls. They also form a tight building envelope that helps to reduce the energy needed to heat and cool buildings.
Timber materials are a sustainable choice as well. All of the wood used in our timber materials comes from well-managed forests, and we are careful to keep timber waste to a minimum. We are proud to be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC® C164575), who shares our commitment to protecting the renewable resource of wood.
